Nebraska Metropolitan Opera Auditions Committee Announces 2010 Winners

The finalists chosen to continue to The Upper Midwest Regional in St. Paul, Minnesota on February 6th were the following:

Alyssa Nance, Soprano, Kansas City Missouri. Graduate student at the Conservatory of Music, University of Missouri, Kansas City.

 

Thomas Gunther, Cincinnati, Ohio.  Baritone, Graduate of the UNL Opera program, currently student at Cincinnati Conservatory.

Patrick O’Halloran, Tenor, Student in UNL Opera Program.

These talented individuals will join the 15 already chosen from the three other districts in the Upper Midwest region. Should they make it past the finals in St. Paul, they will progress to the finals in New York City.

Other winners during the auditions were:

Gary Jones Memorial -  Bethany Eckloff, Soprano, Lincoln, Nebraska. Student at Nebraska Wesleyan University.

 

Friends of Opera, Greg and Dorie Kallos Award - Jeni Houser, Soprano, Lincoln, Nebraska.  Student in the UNL Opera program.

 

Omaha Opera Guild - Beth Deutmeyer, Soprano, Lincoln, Nebraska. Student in the UNL Opera program.
